Drought in Somalia so Boris makes a surprise visit

The situation in Somalia has reached crisis point, so Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has paid a surprise visit.   He arrived in the Somali capital Mogadishu today.  His visit to the East African Nation was an unannounced trip and it is the first time a higher profile UK minister has visited Somalia since the Somali Parliament elected Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo as president last month. Britain is appealing for aid for Somalia’s drought, which has been declared a national disaster amid warnings of a full-blown famine. Continue reading

The chemical composition of water is H20 says Boris Johnson

“The rain it raineth on the just and also on the unjust” quoth Boris from the Bible, (Mathew 5.45) in his Daily Telegraph article today, displaying his impressive knowledge of the scriptures and also his logic. It is hard to believe we are in the middle of the biggest drought for 20 years when we have days like yesterday, when the rain never stopped battering the windows.

Boris says: “How can we tell people that they can’t have baths, when they only have to step outside to be soaked to the skin? Then I listened a bit longer, and of course I saw her point. We have just had the driest spring for 20 years, and across the country rainfall has been down about 45 per cent. Continue reading
