It didn’t get off to a good start. The London Standard reported that Corbyn’s new media strategy is dropping the defensive mode that got them nowhere and doing a Trump! The informal tagline, they say is “Let Corbyn be Corbyn!” Please God No! Couldn’t the masterminds behind the strategy do better than to recyle the old chestnut “Let Bartlett be Bartlett” from the West Wing?
Even Ken Livingstone had a crack at nicking this, and as soon as it was spotted, he had to drop it. From bad to worse. This morning on Good Morning Britain, Piers Morgan took poor Corbo apart, asking if he actually even wanted to be PM? He then interrogated Corbo on his U turn re. Brexit, Corbyn has switched from Remain to Leave, but the only result was Corbo left viewers even more confused about what he actually wanted.
Responding to the stuttering performance, former Ukip leader Nigel Farage wrote on Twitter: “If you thought the PM was confusing over the single market, Corbyn’s position on immigration is even more intriguing.”
Update: There have been several policy changes since this morning. He is dithering on the wage cap idea. He was for FM, then not, then for again, I can’t keep up!
