Boris Johnson made short work of Asim Qur’eshi of Cage on his #AskBoris session with Nick Ferrari today. This was after this interview between Mr. Qur’eshi and Jon Snow on Channel 4, in which MI5 was blamed by Mr. Qur’eshi for the murders flaunted by Jihadi John. See excellent interview with Jon Snow below.
Boris allowed Mr. Qur’eshi to say his piece and then tore into him for blaming MI5.
In an argument with Qur’eshi, Boris said: “I really, really think that the focus of your indignation and outrage should be on people who go out to join groups that throw gays off cliffs, that behead people who don’t subscribe to their version of Islam, that glorify in the execution of innocent journalists and aid workers.
“These should be the object of your wrath, not the security services who are trying to keep us safe.”
Mr. Qur’eshi tries to justify himself, but after giving him a full opportunity to put his case, Boris tears into him with righteous indignation, telling him his focus is wrong, he should be warning young Muslims that terrorism is nothing to do with Islam. Listen to Boris’s tremendous speech to Cage director here!
Boris points out that in the Snow interview Mr. Qur’eshi was asked several times to condemn terrorism, but consistently refuses to do that! Cut through the rhetoric and list to what Boris actually says and also what Mr. Qur’eshi says!
Twitter is aflame with praise for Boris for the clear and passionate way he denounced the apologist for Jihadi John from Cage. Well done Boris!
