Belt and braces style will add to the tone of the Games says Boris

Today, Boris Johnson toured the Olympic Village and tried out the manicure there.  He let a hairdresser fiddle with, but not cut his famous locks.    In his usual reassuring way, our Mayor explained that there was always going to be a significant army presence involved in the security of the Games. (see video)

The security firm, G4S, has fallen down in supplying security guards in sufficient numbers to fulfill their contract, so battalions fresh from  duty in Afghanistan have been drafted in to fill the gap.

For the past seven years, preparations for the Olympics have been absolutely problem free.  The Games has been delivered on time and under budget.  So if there is one problem, it’s understandable, and moving in the army is a prompt and sensible solution.   “Army men will add tone to the event. It will be a very safe Games”, says Boris.

Olympic plans have gone so well up until now. There is always some major problem at some stage though.

  2. Great to draft in the army and so quickly. Excellent idea.

  3. I agree, it’s great to know that the army are taking over. They have snipers, the SAS, everything.
